Martial Arts Specialty
I train in Muay Thai,
Jiu-jitsu, and
Capoeira.
|
How I Started
I was first introduced to Muay Thai and Brazilian
Jiu-jitsu by one of my old martial arts instructors, Sam
Marcellini, and I’ve loved it ever since. As for
Capoeira, it has always been exciting to watch and has a
very unique history, so it has always been something I
wanted to try. There’s also a positive feeling and
sense of camaraderie that you get from Capoeira, that
you might not experience with other martial arts.
|
Skill Level
I have been training at ASG for more than 2 months
and I have a white belt with two stripes in Jiu-jitsu.
|
Tournament Experience
I competed in a karate tournament when I was 10 years
old.
|
Best Training Experience
My best training experience was in Jiu-jitsu when I
submit a guy who outweighed me by 100 lbs.
|
Worst Training Experience
Getting kicked hard in the ribs and having the wind
knocked out of me. My ribs were still hurting for 2-3
days after that experience.
|
Martial Art Heroes
My favorite fighter Gina Carano and other females who
excel in male-dominated sports and martial arts because
they inspire me to train hard and do my best.
|
Why I Recommend
It
I would highly recommend these arts. Brazilian
Jiu-jitsu is great because it relies more on proper
technique and leverage, where you don’t have to worry
about your opponent being a lot bigger and stronger than
you are.
Muay Thai and Capoeira are both very fun and give you
a great workout at the same time.

How Has Training Made a Difference in My Life
It keeps me physically fit, and has been a great
confidence builder.
