Capoeira Classes in Moreno Valley
ASG brings Capoeira to the Inland Empire! Capoeira (pronounced
ka.pu.eh.ra) is an Afro-Brazilian blend of martial art, game, and culture created
in Brazil during the 16th Century. In the traditional form,
participants form a circle and take turns playing instruments, singing, and sparring in pairs in the center of the circle.
Capoeira makes use of:
- fluid acrobatic play
- feints
- subterfuge
- extensive groundwork
- sweeps
- kicks
- head butts
Participants must avoid a sweep, trip, kick, or head butt that may knock him or her on the floor.
Other techniques used include elbow-strikes, slaps, punches, and body-throws.
If you live or work in Moreno Valley or the surrounding cities
of Riverside, San Bernardino, Loma Linda, or Perris, stop in for a
free Capoeira class and see if our program is a fit for you.
